Sakurai has revealed in a "Pic of the day" a new item for use in the battle; the item scarab from The legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, with it, Link can access to high zones, but the the functionality that will have this object in SSB Wii U/3DS will not be the same: "The scarab item from 'The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword' is a comical object that grabs characters and takes them through the air."

Also, Sakurai has revealed the stage based on Kid Icarus: Uprising (this can confirms more the rumor of Palutena as newcomer) for the game: "You can find this statue of the Goddess of Light in one of the stages. She’s watching over the arena."

And finally, Sakurai has revealed also the down special move of Rosalina: "Rosalina's down special move, tentatively called the Gravitational Pull, sucks up items and weapons. Weapons will be disabled when using this move, of course. You have to shake the Wii Remote to perform this move in Super Mario Galaxy, but you won't need to do that in this game."

Y por último, Sakura también ha relevado el movimiento especial hacia abajo de Estela: "El movimiento especial hacia abajo de Estela, denominado provisionalmente la atracción gravitatoria, aspira objetos y armas. Las armas se desactivarán cuando se use este movimiento, por supuesto. Hay que agitar el mando de Wii para realizar este movimiento en Super Mario Galaxy, pero no necesitas hacer eso en este juego.
